1 Dead in Bakersfield Motorcycle Accident on Ming Avenue

BAKERSFIELD, CA (February 3, 2026) – Sunday night, a motorcyclist died in a devastating hit-and-run crash on Ming Avenue.

The incident happened at about 10:44 p.m. in the 4500 block of Ming Avenue, said the Bakersfield Police Department.

Officers arrived to find a male motorcyclist with non-life-threatening injuries. The vehicle involved, described as a white sedan, had left the area before police arrived.

A preliminary investigation found the motorcyclist was traveling eastbound on Ming Avenue when the sedan made an unsafe turn, causing the crash. Officers later contacted a woman believed to be the driver around 1:30 a.m. on Feb. 1, 2026. Police said the investigation is ongoing to confirm her involvement.

The motorcyclist was taken to a hospital and later died Sunday morning. The Kern County Coroner will release his identity at a later date.
