At least one dead after report of vehicle hitting tree south of Bakersfield

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — At least one person is dead after a crash in an area south of Bakersfield Tuesday morning.

The CHP’s website said on February 3, 2026, at around 6:36 a.m., there was a report of a car hitting a tree on Phillips Road and Wible Road.

The CHP’s website listed the crash as a fatality.

It is unknown who died or if anyone else was hurt.
