SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Officials say there is no credible threat to the Sacramento State University campus after a potential swatting call was received.
According to Sacramento State, the call was received around 9:15 a.m. Tuesday, with the caller reporting a potential threat to campus safety.
After evaluating the situation, the university put campus safety protocols into place out of an abundance of caution.
The university police are investigating the report and working with law enforcement partners to assess the situation and ensure campus safety.
Officials said neither a shelter-in-place or class cancellation was warranted given the information available. In a news release, university officials said that decision was guided by ensuring community safety and avoiding unnecessary fear or disruption when there’s no risk to the university.
