Northern California forecast: Foggy morning for San Joaquin Valley, warm and sunny afternoon

VERY PRETTY. 619 IS YOUR TIME. LET’S TALK WEATHER HERE AT HOME WITH OPHELIA. YEAH, IT’S A REALLY NICE MORNING. AND DEPENDING ON WHERE YOU ARE, IT’S AN EVEN BETTER MORNING. INCLUDING IN SACRAMENTO. TEMPERATURES ARE NOT THAT COLD, AND WE DON’T HAVE TOO MUCH FOG. YEAH. AS WE LOOK OUTSIDE, WE CAN ACTUALLY SEE FROM THE CAMERAS IN SACRAMENTO. HOWEVER, THE CAMERA IN STOCKTON TEMPERATURES ARE RIGHT AROUND THE SAME, BUT THAT FOG IS A LITTLE MORE DENSE. MODESTO ALSO DEALING WITH SOME DENSE FOG. SOUTH LAKE TAHOE AT 17 DEGREES RIGHT NOW. QUARTER MILE VISIBILITY AND STOCKTON MODESTO. YOU CAN TELL IT’S JUST HAZY IN SACRAMENTO HEADED WEST, HOWEVER, FAIRFIELD QUARTER MILE VISIBILITY AS WELL. WHEREVER THE FOG IS, THAT SHOULD LIFT AWAY MIDMORNING. BY NOON, THE ENTIRE REGION UP AND DOWN THE VALLEY FROM COAST ALL THE WAY INTO THE MOUNTAINS SHOULD BE SEEING PLENTY OF SUNSHINE. IT’S GOING TO BE A BEAUTIFUL WEDNESDAY ALL THE WAY THROUGH THE EVENING FOG DOES NOT RETURN UNTIL LATER ON AT NIGHT. TEMPERATURES WARMING INTO THE MID TO UPPER 60S IN THE VALLEY WITH A LOT OF SUNSHINE. AGAIN, ALL THAT SUN ALSO IN THE FOOTHILLS. UPPER 60S LOW 70S IN THE SIERRA, ENJOYING HIGHS IN THE 50S AND 60S. HIGH PRESSURE REMAINS IN PLACE RIGHT OVER THE WEST COAST. WE’RE UNDER ITS VERY STRONG INFLUENCE. YOU SEE THAT JET STREAM WRAPPING AROUND IT AND THEN DIVING SOUTH THROUGH THE INTERMOUNTAIN WEST. WELL, THAT AREA OF HIGH PRESSURE IS GOING TO COLLAPSE. THE JET STREAM THAT IS CURVING PRETTY WIDELY RIGHT NOW IS FINALLY GOING TO FLATTEN OUT. AND THAT MEANS THAT HIGH PRESSURE, EVEN THOUGH WE HAVE ANOTHER ONE THAT WILL MOVE IN THIS WEEKEND, IS GOING TO BE LIKE ITS LAST HURRAH BEFORE THAT CONVEYOR BELT OF STORMS SLIDES DOWN AND FLOWS OVER CALIFORNIA. THAT DOES MEAN WE HAVE A CHANCE OF STORMS RETURNING FIRST TO THE MOUNTAINS AND THE FOOTHILLS ON MONDAY, AND THEN TO THE VALLEY STARTING ON TUESDAY. IT LOOKS LIKE WEATHER REMAINS UNSETTLED AS THIS TROUGH REMAINS IN PLACE OVER THE WEST COAST NEXT WEEK. SO REST OF THIS WEEK, FOGGY MORNINGS, WARM AFTERNOONS, THE WEEKEND COOLER WITH CLOUDS, AND THEN NEXT WEEK BREEZY MONDAY FOLLOWED BY SHOWERS NEXT WEEK AND THERE ARE FEW DROPS OF RAIN AT THE END OF YOUR SEVEN DAY FORECAST THERE. SHOWERS POSSIBLE ON TUESDAY.
