The San Francisco 49ers made it to the playoffs in 2025 after going 12-4 in the regular season, but they fell short of their ultimate goal of hoisting the Lombardi Trophy for the sixth time in their franchise history.

One room that was interesting to follow for the 49ers this past year was the wide receivers. Several of them battled injuries, one was suspended for a few weeks and some proved their worth.

As we take the time to reflect on the season that was for San Francisco, let’s take a look at how well their wide receivers performed throughout the campaign.

Jauan Jennings: B

After agreeing to a reworked contract, Jennings proved to be the 49ers’ most productive and reliable receiver despite battling injuries, as the 28-year-old appeared in 15 games and caught 55 passes for 643 yards and nine touchdowns. Working well both Brock Purdy and Mac Jones, San Francisco may even be willing to give him the contract that he’s looking for this offseason.

Bourne signed with the team after the start of the regular season and helped San Francisco weather the storm of the injuries at receiver, as he caught 37 passes for 551 yards. However, Most of that came in the two week stretch where he had back-to-back games with 142 yards. We’ll find out in the coming weeks if his effort was enough to earn another year with the 49ers.

Ricky Pearsall: C+

The 49ers really needed Pearsall to show up and show out in 2025, but multiple injuries limited him to just nine games in the regular season. He caught 36 passes for 528 yards, but his availability was a problem and really hurt the team at times.

Demarcus Robinson: D+

After starting the year with a three-game suspension, Robinson returned to the lineup and played the remaining 14 games. However, he wasn’t as big of a contributor as expected, catching just 22 passes for 276 yards and a touchdown. While he popped in the wild-card round, hauling in six passes for 111 yards and a score, San Francisco could’ve used more from him in 2025.

Skyy Moore: D

Moore was a strong punt returner for the 49ers in 2025, averaging 11.6 yards per return, which was good enough to make him a Pro Bowl alternate. However, he wasn’t much of a threat offensively. He caught five passes for 87 yards in 17 games and rushed twice for 11 yards.

Marquez Valdes-Scantling: INC

Valdes-Scantling only spent a few weeks with the 49ers before landing on injured reserve and eventually finding himself with the Pittsburgh Steelers to end the season. With San Francisco, he appeared in five games, catching four passes for 40 yards. The 49ers needed him to step up early in the year, but he was pretty disappointing.

Jordan Watkins: INC

Watkins was expected to play a role in 2025, but multiple injuries limited the rookie to just four games, as he caught two passes for 26 yards. Hopefully, he can turn things around in 2026.

Brandon Aiyuk: INC

Aiyuk was supposed to work his way back from a torn ACL in 2025, but he failed to communicate properly with the team, got his guarantees stripped and refused to return to the field, essentially ending his time in San Francisco.

Malik Turner: INC

Turner spent the entire year on San Francisco’s practice squad, but he was elevated for four games total, including the playoff win over the Eagles. He was targeted twice and didn’t catch either pass.

Jacob Cowing: INC

Cowing missed the entire 2025 season due to a hamstring injury he suffered in training camp. He was back practicing at the end of the year, but the 49ers didn’t feel the need to push as the season wound down.

Trent Taylor: INC

Taylor missed the entire season with a back injury that he suffered during the offseason. He’s set to his free agency after playing just two games for the 49ers over the last two years.
