Fresno, CA — The Armenian Museum of Fresno will present a special exhibition featuring the work of artist Lucy Janigian, opening during ArtHop on Thursday, February 5, from 5–8 pm, at the ZARTONK Gallery in the Helm Building, located at 1107 Fulton Street in Downtown Fresno. Admission is free.
The exhibition will showcase curated pieces from the museum’s permanent collection, offering visitors the opportunity to experience Janigian’s powerful and expressive work in an intimate gallery setting as part of Fresno’s monthly ArtHop celebration.
Lucy Janigian is a Jerusalem-born painter and sculptor of Armenian descent who resides in San Jose, California. Her work is represented in numerous public, private, and corporate collections. Known for her abstract compositions, Janigian draws inspiration from nature and her travels. The strength of her expressionistic and cubist techniques, combined with vividly contrasting colors, heightens the stark graphic power of her work.
Deeply influenced by her Christian faith and her passion for justice and peace, Janigian’s art reflects both spiritual depth and a strong humanitarian voice.
“Lucy Janigian’s work speaks with both visual force and profound meaning,” said Varoujan der Simonian, Director of the Armenian Museum of Fresno. “Presenting these pieces from our permanent collection during ArtHop allows us to share her powerful artistic voice with a wider audience in a setting that invites reflection, connection, and cultural discovery.”
The ArtHop opening invites the public to step inside the ZARTONK Gallery for a meaningful cultural experience just steps away from the energy of the street festivities. Admission is free and open to the public.
