FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) — An investigation is underway after a fire at a California High-Speed Rail construction site in southeast Fresno.

The Fresno Fire Department says calls started coming in about a fire at the construction site on Church and Sunland avenues after 8:45 a.m. Wednesday.

When crews arrived, they found a shoring structure made out of plywood and other materials on fire.

The structure is part of the Church Avenue overpass and, at the time of the fire, about 20 employees were working on the site.

No one was hurt and the cause of the fire is possibly related to construction work.

Firefighters say they had some issues accessing the site and fog did play a factor in their response.
