On Feb. 4, 1929, Marysville was preparing to host a big auto show for the entire valley.
“Predicts big crowds will attend show,” was the Appeal-Democrat headline over a story that began, “The Sacramento valley automotive and radio show will attract crowds to Memorial auditorium in Marysville, Feb. 21, 22, and 23, which will be as large proportionately as those attending the Pacific. Automobile show n San Francisco.
“This is the belief of L.F. Williamson of the firm of King & Williamson, who has returned from a visit to the San Francisco show.
“Many of the exhibits of the San Francisco show re being brought to Marysville for the Sacramento valley exposition.
“While in San Francisco, Williamson made arrangements for his firm’s exhibit here. He reports that it is possible that theGold Pontiac, especially built for the New York and Chicago auto shows, will be shown in Marysville. According to Williamson, one of the features of the show in San Francisco was the new 61 Peerless.”
