Plan a whole day at the Fresno Chaffee Zoo! There are multiple exhibits featuring all different types of animals. You can feed giraffes, touch a stingray, enjoy a bird show, or take the kids to the children’s nature play zone offering various activities for kids. The zoo is also hosting a Valentine’s Early Bird Tour which offers admission to the zoo, a small beverage, baked Valentine’s Day treat, a tour featuring the zoo’s current babies, and how zoos across the country play matchmaker in the name of conservation. United Skates Clovis offers a good time for those who love skating and arcades. The rink is set with an awesome lighting system along with great jams to enjoy your time. They also offer adjustable skates for young and beginning skaters as well as skate mates (guard railings on wheels) in different sizes to help you. Kings Canyon National Park

Not into making reservations or rushing into a restaurant on Valentine’s Day? No problem! You could literally plan a whole outdoor adventure here in Fresno County because Kings Canyon National Park is 90 minutes away. With different hiking paths like the General Grant Tree Trail, Hume Lake Loop, and Buena Vista Trail, there’s a hike for different levels. This trip can be made with friends, family, and loved ones. Be sure to plan ahead and check the latest road conditions before heading out.
Pincushion Peak Trail & Millerton Lake
Location: Millerton Lake, Friant, CA 93626

It’s easy to get outdoors just outside the city! Hike on Pincushion Peak Trail or catch the sunrise or sunset at Millerton Lake. It’s 20 minutes from Fresno. Pincushion is a 2.8-mile loop trail located near Friant, California, with Millerton Lake within view as you head to the top. The trail is moderate with a steep incline to the top of the peak. If hiking isn’t your forte, then Millerton Lake is a great relaxing outing for anybody who is wanting to be outdoors. It might be too cold to swim, but grab a blanket and snacks and head up to get a view of the lake and some fresh air.
