Information Needed on 1993 Cold Case 

February 4, 2026 – Fresno County Sheriff’s Office officials report that on Monday, July 12th, 1993, the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office was called out to Interstate-5 and Kamm Ave., near Cantua Creek, regarding the discovery of a deceased woman.

At the time, she was wearing a ring with a photograph of a young boy approximately 3-4 years old, a California Hollywood Rat Race T-Shirt, jean shorts and a white cross necklace.

In December 2025, the Cold Case Unit identified the female as Janet Fay Moore.  Janet was 40 years old at the time she was discovered.  Janet was born in Nevada but lived in the Sacramento area from 1971 through 1993.  The circumstances of her death are unknown.
