Water damage from a leak has prompted the temporary suspension of Superior Court of Los Angeles County operations at the Spring Street Courthouse in downtown Los Angeles Thursday.
This is the second day the court’s administration has kept the courthouse closed.
“To continue protecting the safety of court users, court staff, and judicial officers, the Superior Court of Los Angeles County will again suspend operations…,” said the courthouse administrators in a statement. “The Court will continue to provide timely updates regarding the status of the Spring Street Courthouse on its social media channels and on its website, www.LACourt.ca.gov.”
Hearings and matters scheduled for Thursday in Superior Court departments at the Spring Street Courthouse may be continued, conducted remotely, or moved to the Stanley Mosk Courthouse.
The court leases the space at the courthouse at 312 N. Spring St. from the U.S. General Services Administration and is working with the agency on remediation efforts.
