BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — One person is dead after a crash in McFarland early Thursday morning.
The McFarland Police Department said on February 5, 2026, at around at 6 a.m., officers were called to a report of a major traffic crash at Garzoli Avenue and Whisler Road.
McFarland police there were road closures are in the area amid heavy fog in the area.
The Kern County Coroner’s Office identified a passenger who was killed in the crash as 64-year-old Matilde Munoz Santillano of McFarland.
The coroner’s report said Santillano was the passenger in a vehicle that collided with a truck. She died at the scene from her injuries.
It is unknown if anyone else was hurt.
