SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) — The average resale ticket price for the big game this year will run you $9,913 according to Forbes — and the cheapest ticket that will get you in the door is about $5,800 per Stub Hub.

Staying home and hosting a viewing party will definitely save you big bucks — but the average cost of a Super Bowl party will still cost you a bit more in front of the big screen than it did last year.

Wells Fargo released their annual Super Bowl Food Report, and the cost of snacks and drinks for a party of 10 is up to $140, a slight 1.6% increase over last year.

According to their study, the cost of chicken wings are down 2.7% year over year, averaging about $3.47 per pound. That’s thanks to an increase in domestic production and lower chicken feed costs. But another party staple, shrimp, is up 8.1% at an average of $9.10 per pound. Years past saw a surplus in shrimp supply, but that’s now gone back down.

And let’s talk sauce.

If you’re looking for tasty ways to dress up your snack tray, the average cost of salsa is up 1.7%, and onion-flavored dips are up 1.5%. Wells Fargo says that’s due to increasing labor costs more so than the cost of ingredients.

Even though some party staples are a little more expensive this year, it’s safe to say that watching the big game at home will be less of a “penalty” on your wallet.
