The San Dieguito Chapter of the National Charity League recently gathered for its cherished Mother-Daughter Chapter Tea, an annual tradition hosted this year by the Class of 2030 at the San Diego Marriott Hotel Del Mar. More than 260 chapter members — Patronesses and Ticktockers in grades 7 through 12 — came together to celebrate service, leadership, and the special bond at the heart of NCL, according to a news release.

With the theme “Tea Among the Stars – Shining together in Service,” the event highlighted NCL’s core values while offering an opportunity to practice etiquette and connection. Guests enjoyed an inspiring presentation by special guest speaker Erica Rood, M.A. Ed., titled “The Heart of Leadership: A Mother-Daughter Workshop on Confident Leadership,” which encouraged meaningful reflection and shared growth, the news release stated.

Families with a current 6th-grade daughter who are interested in learning more about the National Charity League are invited to contact Brooke Beros at Membershipsandieguito@nclonline.org.

The NCL San Dieguito Chapter’s Annual Membership Drive runs until March 1, 2026.  The chapter is accepting applications in 2026 for 6th grade girls who graduate high school in the year 2032 and for 8th grade girls who graduate high school in the year 2030.

The application process is completed online through a specialized link from the chapter’s membership committee. NCL, Inc. has multiple chapters within San Diego County, and a member can apply to any chapter within the county. San Dieguito has members living throughout San Diego County, including the following in order of concentration: Carmel Valley, 4S Ranch, Scripps Ranch, Del Mar, Rancho Santa Fe, Encinitas, Carlsbad (92009 and 92011), Solana Beach, Cardiff, and La Jolla.

The chapter’s girls most typically graduate from public and private high schools located within the boundaries of San Dieguito Union High School District (Torrey Pines, CCA, SDA, Cathedral, Santa Fe Christian) and Scripps Ranch. However, the chapter also has students attending Design 39, Francis Parker, La Jolla Country Day, La Jolla High School, and The Bishop’s School. The chapter’s Patroness Meetings are most frequently held on Sunday afternoons in Carmel Valley. A Prospective Member shall only apply to one chapter, the news release stated.
