Lake Orion DDA Honors Volunteers with Illuminator Awards

(ONTV, Joe Johnson, Feb. 5, 2026)

Lake Orion, MI – So much of what happens in Downtown Lake Orion – from the fun events, thoughtful place-making, economic development – is because of Downtown Development Authority (DDA) volunteers.  To recognize those efforts, the DDA recently hosted Light up Lake Orion, a night to celebrate the community’s “Illuminators.”

Seven awards were presented while dozens of volunteers enjoyed the food and atmosphere of Sick Town Hall.

The Tour DDA Force Award was presented to Scout Troop 120.

Les Morrison of Reconnect Counseling earned the New Recruit Award.

The Spirit of Main Street Award went to the Orion Historical Society Board Chair Sharon Konieczny.

Ambassador of the Year is Jenn Todd of Breakthrough Partners Inc.

Linda Crane was presented with Strongest Paddler Award.

The DDA Legacy Award went to Stan and Rosemary Ford.

And the Bring Your Tools Award was presented to Tim Marriott, co-owner of Lake Orion Bike and Adventure Company.

DDA Director Matt Gibb said the event was to celebrate “illuminators who light up Lake Orion.”

“We can’t do anything without the spirit of helping hands.”

Orion ONTV captured the spirit of the event.  Learn more about Orion ONTV at https://orionontv.org/  Learn more about Downtown Lake Orion at https://downtownlakeorion.org/
