Rochester, Mich. – (WJRT) – The Oakland University Police Department has lifted a lockdown for most of the campus after several hours searching for two suspects in a stabbing. The lockdown remained in place at VanWagoner House, the residence hall where the incident took place. 

Police said late Thursday night that they felt it was safe for the University to return to normal operations. 

The alert went out on the university’s social media at 8:26 pm about the assault and suspect on the loose.  Police say they responded to Van Wagoner House at about 8:15 pm after receiving 911 calls for about a fight outside. 

Oakland University police say a victim, who was not a student, was stabbed multiple times and was transported to McLaren. 

Police released descriptions of two suspects One was described as a black man in his early 20s, about 5 feet 8 inches tall with chin length dreadlocks who was wearing a black North Face jacket, and white shoes. The second suspect was described as a black man in his early 20s with curly hair, wearing a camouflage jacket with a black hood, and black shoes. Both were traveling in a dark colored SUV. 

Police are still searching for the two men and vehicle. Anyone with information is urged to contact the Oakland University Police Department.Â
