Gaslamp staple barleymash rolled out a Mid-Week Mini Menu starting Monday, Feb. 2, offering $6 mini versions of fan-favorite dishes with the purchase of any beverage. Available all day Monday through Thursday, the menu rotates daily with mini barleymacs on Mondays, Iron Fries on Tuesdays, slider-sized burgers and sandwiches on Wednesdays, and half-sized flatbreads on Thursdays. The new menu gives diners an easy, affordable way to sample barleymash classics during the workweek.

George’s at the Cove has officially reopened its iconic Ocean Terrace rooftop in La Jolla following a three-month renovation, bringing subtle but significant upgrades to one of San Diego’s most coveted dining views. The refreshed space features new flooring, glass perimeter walls, permanent heaters, LED-lit umbrellas, and updated furnishings, all designed to blend seamlessly into the terrace’s classic look. Barrio Logan’s Fonda del Barrio has launched its first-ever happy hour, now offered Tuesday through Sunday from 4–6 p.m. Drink specials include $7 cocktails and $6 Mexican draft beers, while the food menu features Guacamole con Totopos ($7), Dedos de Pescado ($10), Salpicon de Jaiba ($10), and Tostadas de Pibil ($9). Opened in August, Fonda del Barrio showcases ancestral Mexican cuisine representing each of Mexico’s seven primary culinary regions.

City Tacos has added the tetela to its permanent menu after the pre-Hispanic corn masa pocket proved so popular as January’s Taco of the Month. The traditional Mixteca dish, rarely found in the U.S., is now available in three versions: Camarones Diablo with chili árbol–marinated shrimp and Oaxaca cheese, Puerco Picante with chicharrón prensado and spicy red salsa, and the vegetarian Blossom Queso made with squash blossom, corn, and rajas. Finished with onion, cilantro, crema fresca, and cotija cheese, each tetela is roughly the size of two tacos and priced at $8.50 at all six San Diego County City Tacos locations.

From rooftop reopenings and neighborhood groceries to game-day deals and inventive collaborations, San Diego’s food scene continues to deliver something for every appetite this month — no special occasion required.
