Human remains found along Sacramento River identified as missing West Sacramento man

Skeletal remains found along the Sacramento River earlier this month have been identified as a West Sacramento man who has been missing since last summer, according to the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office. On Oct. 9, Reclamation District employees found the remains around 11 a.m. near where the Steamboat Slough meets the Sacramento River in Courtland.The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office identified the remains as Alejandro Reyes Cisneros and said his manner of death was a homicide.Cisneros was reported as an at-risk missing person by the West Sacramento Police Department. He was last seen in June 2024, when he was 39 years old. At the time, the police department said he was last seen leaving his residence and getting into a newer model black pick-up truck with unknown subjects. Since then, he had no contact with his family and went without needed medication.Further circumstances surrounding Cisneros’ death are unknown. COURTLAND, Calif. —

Skeletal remains found along the Sacramento River earlier this month have been identified as a West Sacramento man who has been missing since last summer, according to the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office.

On Oct. 9, Reclamation District employees found the remains around 11 a.m. near where the Steamboat Slough meets the Sacramento River in Courtland.

The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office identified the remains as Alejandro Reyes Cisneros and said his manner of death was a homicide.
