FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) — After more than 60 years of service, Fresno County’s Central Library in Downtown Fresno is moving forward with the next phase of a major improvement project.
In order to complete the work, the library will be closed to the public starting Sunday, February 15.
In 2024, crews replaced the roof of the building off Mariposa between N and O streets downtown.
This next phase will include upgrades to the electrical system, lighting and ceiling.
The basement level will also undergo renovations.
It’s expected to remain closed for up to 24 months.
The county of Fresno says it’s working to identify temporary service locations in the downtown area to continue providing access to services during this time.
Patrons can also visit other nearby library locations.
