Yes, the 2026 Milan Cortina Olympics’ opening ceremony takes place Friday, but it is also the first opportunity to see Oakland’s Alysa Liu take to the ice.
The 20-year-old is skating a short program as part of a figure skating team event.
Following her last preparation session, Liu shared how much she loves practicing. In fact, she said she competes so that she can train all the time, and that’s why there’s no pressure going into Friday’s competition.
