Alysa Liu is back on Olympic ice — and she is good.
The Oakland figure skater finished second in the women’s short program during the Team USA’s event qualifiers at the 2026 Milan Cortina Olympics Friday.
The 20-year-old figure skater, who briefly retired after the 2022 Beijing Olympics before returning to the sport two years later, scored a 74.90 to secure nine points and bring the Americans’ point total to 25.
Japan is in second (23 points) after Kaori Sakamoto delivered an impressive 78.80 score, adding 10 points to her team’s total.
