(FOX40.COM) — The Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office arrested 21 people Thursday, including six repeat offenders who are eligible for prosecution under Proposition 36, during a focused retail theft operation at the Dollar Tree in South Sacramento.

The Sheriff’s Property Crime and Organized Retail Crime Task Force Detectives, along with Central Division Deputies, arrested 21 people, including 4 juveniles. Six suspects, who are repeat offenders, are eligible for prosecution under Proposition 36.

The Dollar Tree on Florin Road has generated 67 calls for service in just three months, and company officials report nearly 65% losses in 2025. SCSO said that repeated theft is jeopardizing the employment of the 10 people who work there.
