San Francisco police officers arrested a 47-year-old man in connection with a fatal stabbing that occurred early Friday morning in the Mission District.

Officers arrived at the 1900 block of Mission Street just after midnight on Feb. 6, where they found a victim with stab wounds. The victim was taken to a nearby hospital and later died, according to SFPD’s news release.

Police detained a suspect near 15th and Mission streets who was identified as Paulino Inxah, a San Francisco resident. Officers searched Inxah and seized a knife.

Inxah was booked into San Francisco County Jail with charges of murder and possession of narcotics paraphernalia.

Although an arrest has been made, this remains an open and active investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact the SFPD at 415-575-4444 or text a tip to TIP411 and begin the message with SFPD.
