BAKERSFIELD, Calif.(KBAK/KBFX) — Caltrans announced on Friday a three-week lane closure on Weedpatch Highway (State Route 184) near Lamont as part of the Weedpatch Highway Rehab Project.

Starting Thursday, Feb. 12, weather permitting, the northbound #2 (right) lane will be closed between Lana Street and McKee Road. This closure will be in effect 24 hours a day, seven days a week throughout this stage of construction, which is expected to last approximately three weeks.

This phase of construction will include the building of curbs, sidewalks, driveways, and ramps compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

Caltrans has assured that businesses in the area will remain open during construction, with access to driveways maintained.

The closure may extend beyond the anticipated period if delays occur due to weather or other uncontrollable events.
