A motorist was rushed to a hospital Saturday after a vehicle went off the Artesia (91) Freeway in Long Beach and landed on Artesia Boulevard.

The crash occurred at about 7:20 a.m. Saturday on the eastbound freeway, the California Highway Patrol reported. A witness reported that the vehicle left the freeway and landed on the surface street below.

Paramedics from the Long Beach Fire Department rushed the motorist to Memorial Care Long Beach Medical Center, where the victim was subsequently cited for an unspecified violation, the CHP said.

The person’s condition was not provided.
