Keyonee Neal and Janiya Sawyer posted double-doubles to lead the Dominican University women’s basketball team to a 71-61 road victory against Fresno Pacific on Saturday.
Neal had 11 points and 13 rebounds while Sawyer had 11 points and 11 rebounds for the Penguins (16-5, 10-5 PacWest). Dominican held on for the victory despite being limited to just eight points in the fourth quarter. The Penguins led 63-46 heading into the final period.
Mahliya Wilson scored a team-high 15 points and Kaylyn Buchanon added 13 points and eight rebounds.
Men’s basketball
College of Marin got the game into overtime but fell 90-82 at Merritt on Friday night. The Mariners (15-9, 6-6 Bay Valley) have four games left this season, including a home game Wednesday against Mendocino.
