BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — Quiet and mild weather continues across southcentral California for Sunday, but a Pacific trough will finally replace the persistent ridge that has been dominating our weather for more than a month around here. This pattern change could kick off a return to more typical weather for this time of year.

The active weather may continue into the week after as well. The exact trajectory of the broad trough and individual weather systems developing within it is still an enigma. That means the sensible details of how much rain, snow and wind as well as the timing of it all remains a meteorological mystery, for now. But there could be multiple opportunities for cooler, wetter, windier and even snowier weather in the days ahead.
