Activists are planning to use the national spotlight of the Super Bowl to denounce U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement and its tactics.
The move follows similar anti-ICE rallies held locally and comes amid growing concern the agency will use the game being held Sunday at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara as a show-of-force moment while the world is watching. The National Football League recently said there is no planned ICE activities during the Super Bowl.

Sunday’s demonstration will include artists, musicians and community organizers planning “Flags in the Stands,” where activists will hand out rally towels near the stadium calling for “ICE OUT,” organizers said.
Meanwhile, the NFL and law enforcement has said there are no known, specific credible threats against the Super Bowl.
Officials told NBC Bay Area that they’ve been planning security for this week and Sunday’s game for 18 months, with more than 35 federal, state and local agencies expected to be on-site, including ICE agents.
NFL and federal law enforcement officials said Tuesday there are no planned ICE operations for Super Bowl LX or the events leading up to it. Bob Redell reports.
