FRESNO, Calif. (FOX26) — The Anime Gaming Con implemented a weapons security check on prop weapons for attendees in costume.
The Anime Gaming Con was held at the Fresno Convention Center.
The convention was normally held at the Fresno Fairgrounds, but it has gotten so big that the convention moved to the Fresno Convention Center.
The convention featured vendors, food, an anime car show, a trading card tournament, a gaming corner, a special guest voice actor meet and greet, and a cosplay contest.
The convention added a weapons checkpoint for props and a dress code as a safety precaution following recent events.
However, the trend of having weapon checkpoints for props has become common at larger events.
The owner of the event said the security checkpoint will be implemented in future events.
Despite the added security, most attendees did not find an issue with their costumes.
Attendees got a chance to speak with a large list of voice actors.
