LOGAN, Utah – Utah State gymnastics (8-3, 3-1 MW) continues its 2026 season on Monday, Feb. 9, as it hosts Alaska (2-3, 0-0 MPSF), Sacramento State (2-6, 0-0 MPSF) and Southern Utah (2-6, 0-0 MPSF) in a quad meet at 6:30 p.m. USU is ranked 27th in the nation in the most recent Road to Nationals Poll.
 
Utah State will begin the meet on vault, Southern Utah will begin on bars, Sacramento State will start on beam, and Alaska will start on floor. The meet will be streamed live on the MW Network and live scoring will be available via Pro Score.
 
As part of its Employee Appreciation and Ag Night, USU Athletics will be giving away 500 cow-print rally towels to the first arriving fans. Youth are invited to the kids’ zone on the concourse where they can color, make posters, or enjoy a face painter. Gymnasts will be available following the meet for autographs on the concourse.

UTAH STATE NOTES
Utah State’s 8-3 start to the 2026 campaign is its best since the 1999 squad started with an 11-1 record. Overall, USU’s 8-3 record is tied for the eighth-best start to a season in program history.
 
Utah State ranks first in the Mountain West and 27th in the nation with an average team score of 195.600. USU ranks first in the MW and 20th in the nation on floor (49.085), first in the MW and 28th in the nation on bars (48.915), second in the MW and 32nd in the nation on vault (48.835), and second in the MW and 32nd in the nation on beam (48.765).
 
Individually, sophomore Olivia Orengo ranks second in the MW and 51st in the nation in the all-around (39.067). Junior Isabella Vater ranks second in the MW and 88th in the nation on floor (9.845), while freshman Anabelle Dewey ranks third in the MW and 91st in the nation on floor (9.844). Junior Nyla Morabito ranks seventh in the MW on vault (9.780). Sophomore Lundyn VanderToolen ranks third in the MW on bars (9.805). Junior Mya Witte ranks first in on beam (9.805). 
 
FROM THE RECORD BOOKS
Junior Nyla Morabito has won seven vault titles in her career, which is tied with Paige Jones (2011-14), Heather Heinrich (2007-10) and Nicole Kilpatrick (2000-03) for the seventh-most in program history. Morabito has already won four vault titles this year, which is tied with six other gymnasts for the 10th most in a single season in program history.
 
SCOUTING THE COMPETITION
Alaska ranks 69th in the nation with an average team score of 190.142. UAA ranks 63rd in the nation on bars (47.475), 66th in the nation on beam (47.625), 75th in the nation on vault (47.433), and 77th in the nation on floor (47.608).
 
Individually, junior Claudia Lessig ranks fifth in the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) and 96th in the nation in the all-around (37.775). Junior Jamilia Duffus ranks 11th in the MPSF on bars (9.625), 16th in the MPSF on vault (9.650), and 17th in the MPSF on floor (9.633). Freshman Alexandra Karkowski ranks 12th in the MPSF on beam (9.683).
 
Sacramento State ranks 48th in the nation with an average team score of 193.908. SSU ranks 39th in the nation on beam (48.600), 50th in the nation on bars (48.300), 55th in the nation on vault (48.533), and 57th in the nation on floor (48.475).
 
Individually, senior Sarah Lutrel ranks fourth in the MPSF and 87th in the nation in the all-around (37.775). Senior Rylin Zimmerman ranks eighth in the MPSF on floor (9.800), and ninth in the MPSF on vault (9.625). Senior Kara Houghton ranks fourth in the MPSF on bars (9.683). Sophomore Lexi Frank ranks third in the MPSF and 90th in the nation on beam (9.800). 
 
Southern Utah ranks 26th in the nation with an average team score of 193.908. SUU ranks 24th in the nation on beam (48.600), 26th in the nation on floor (48.300), 29th in the nation on vault (48.533), and 32nd in the nation on bars (48.475).
 
Individually, sophomore Mia Hampton ranks first in the MPSF and 31st in the nation in the all-around (37.775). Junior Niya Randolph ranks first in the MPSF and 88th in the nation on vault (9.625), and first in the MPSF and 73rd in the nation on bars (9.650). Junior Rylee Miller ranks first in the MPSF and 73rd in the nation on beam (9.683).
 
SERIES HISTORY
Utah State is 8-0 all-time against Alaska, including a 4-0 home record. USU posted a 195.400-190.325 neutral site win against the Seawolves this past weekend at Air Force. USU is 14-15 all-time against Sacramento State, including a 4-5 home record. USU posted a 195.350-193.425 neutral site win against the Hornets at the Boise State Quad Meet on Jan. 30. USU is 59-63 all-time against Southern Utah, including a 30-18 home record. USU is 2-0 against the Thunderbirds this year with a 195.825-195.675 neutral site win at the Best of Utah Meet on Jan. 12, and a 195.700-195.550 home win on Jan. 17.
 
LAST TIME OUT
Utah State scored 195.400 to finish second at the Air Force Tri Meet held inside Cadet West Gym on Friday, Feb. 6, 2026. Air Force won the meet with 195.800 and Alaska was third with 190.325.
 
Utah State began the meet on the bars and scored 48.950, followed by 48.550 on beam, 49.175 on floor and 48.725 on vault. Air Force scored 48.700 on vault, 49.225 on bars, 48.975 on beam and 48.900 on floor. Alaska scored 47.800 on vault, 47.400 on bars, 47.700 on beam and 47.425 on floor.
 
Utah State posted five career-high scores on the night. Junior Isabella Vater tied for first on floor with a career-high 9.900, while junior Nyla Morabito and freshman Alianna Valdez tied for first on vault with scores of 9.825, tying Valdez’s career high. It is Vater’s fourth career title, including her third on floor. This year, Vater has now won three titles with two on floor and one on bars. Valdez claimed her first-career title. Morabito has now won five titles this year with four on vault and one on beam. For her career, she has 14 titles with seven on vault, six on floor, and one on beam. Her seven vault titles are tied for the seventh-most in program history. Sophomore Olivia Orengo competed in the all-around for the fourth time this season and finished fourth with 38.500.
 
Utah State began the meet on bars and scored 48.950, just shy of its season-high score of 49.000. Orengo and freshman Charley Laufer paced the Aggies as both gymnasts scored 9.825 to tie for fourth. For Laufer, that score is a career high. Junior Sydney Jelen began the rotation with 9.775, followed by 9.750 from senior Avery Bibbey. Orengo then scored 9.825 and sophomore Lundyn VanderToolen posted 9.775. Laufer then scored her 9.825 and Vater concluded the rotation with 9.750.
 
Moving to beam for its second rotation, Utah State scored 48.550. Morabito led USU on this event with a career-high-tying 9.850 to tie for second. Jelen scored 9.750 in the leadoff position, followed by 9.425 from Orengo and 9.750 from Valdez. Sophomore Kaylie Medrano then scored 9.325 and Morabito posted 9.850. Junior Mya Witte concluded the rotation with 9.775 for the Aggies.
 
Utah State continued its high performances on floor and scored a 49.175 on the event as two Aggies notched career-highs. Vater highlighted this rotation by scoring a career-high 9.900 to tie for first, while freshman Mara Gruber notched a career-high 9.850 in the anchor spot and tied for third. Orengo led off the rotation with 9.800 and freshman Sienna Yelle followed with 9.825. Senior Chelsea Southam scored 9.775 and freshman Anabelle Dewey posted 9.800.
 
Utah State concluded the meet on vault and scored 48.725. Morabito and Valdez led USU with scores of 9.825 to tie for first. Witte began the rotation with 9.675 and Orengo scored 9.450. Dewey followed with 9.750 and Southam scored 9.650. Morabito then scored 9.825, as did Valdez. For Valdez, that vault score ties her career high.
