Re “Why Balboa Park parking fees are bad for local kids’ health” (Feb. 1): Author Audrey Pham is absolutely correct about the fees’ negative effects.
The public employee unions get the city leaders elected that they want. And in turn, those indebted leaders give the unions what they want in their contracts. The problem is that most of the public doesn’t see that our leaders don’t have the best interests of the citizenry at heart. More citizens need to vote and vote wisely. Otherwise we will keep facing new and higher taxes and fees until we can’t afford to live here.
