SAN FRANCISCO, CA — As we head into the new week, we’ve rounded up the stories you may have missed Saturday and Sunday to prepare you for Monday.

But before we jump into Northern California’s top stories, residents should expect showers and possible thunderstorms this week, according to the National Weather Service.

“Patchy fog this morning,” NWS San Francisco forecasters wrote Monday. “Wetting rains expected Tuesday morning through Wednesday and again next weekend.”

In other news, a cluster of quakes were recorded in the Bay Area; six people were rescued after a boat capsized in heavy surf; human remains were found in a home that burned after a man was fatally shot; and the U.S. Coast Guard suspended a search for two missing surfers.

Also, teachers in San Francisco announced they are going on strike Monday after negotiations with the school district failed.
