FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) — Fire crews knocked down a massive vacant building fire in central Fresno.
It broke out just one block from where the former Carl’s Jr. burned down less than two weeks ago.
Firefighters used an aerial ladder to put out the flames at Home and Blackstone.
Officials say two buildings were affected.
Both were vacant and are owned by the city.
They also say the buildings were set to be demolished fairly soon.
A Fresno Fire Battalion Chief says they don’t know the cause at this point.
Officials say no one was in the building, and while the cause remains unknown, they do know there’s no natural gas connected to the building or electrical wiring.
The fire was near the railroad tracks, and it disrupted operations for about 30 minutes.
