BAHC President Zaileen Janmohamed thanked leadership in cities across the Bay Area after a successful Super Bowl Week in Northern California.
There were a lot of thank you’s given to San Francisco Mayor Daniel Lurie as well for his work during Super Bowl week. He was not in attendance as he has been active in the teacher’s strike situation in the city.
49ers Owner Jed York also spoke on the impact felt and seen at the star-studded daytime and nighttime events held across the region.
“We’ve done about $500 million of economic impact in the Bay Area this week,” said York. “Over 100,000 room nights, countless events in the communities, we’ve donated close to $10 million back in the community just this week and that’s a part of the lasting impact.”
Now the focus shifts to the next Super Bowl in Southern California.

In front of City Hall, once again, thousands turned out for another night of Super Bowl festivities, with people coming to San Jose’s block party.
“In 2027, the Super Bowl returns to the Los Angeles region once again, taking center stage at SoFi Stadium for the second time this decade,” Kathryn Schloessman of the LA Sports & Entertainment Commission said.
“It isn’t the only time in 60 years that two cities in one state have had the Super Bowl consecutively, but it is a very, very rare thing,” California Lieutenant Governor Eleni Kounalakis said. “California has the people, the cities, the sports teams, the sports, fans, the incredible infrastructure, the hotels, and the ability to continue to invest in all these things.”
While next year’s Super Bowl won’t be in the Bay Area, there is a hope that San Francisco will be represented.
“Season starts today, and the Niners are ready to get after it, and hopefully we’ll be there,” York said. “Thank you very much, everybody.”
You’ll be able to watch Super Bowl LXI right here on ABC7 next year.
