The California Black Chamber of Commerce in partnership with the California Legislative Black Caucus hosted their annual California Black Business Brunch on Monday.The event, held at downtown Sacramento’s Citizen Hotel, brought together business and legislative leaders from across the state to honor Black-owned businesses and businesses that have made a meaningful impact on communities of of color.”It’s the resilience of small business folk in our community that we’re honoring, but more importantly, it’s shining a light on who we are as Americans,” said CEO of the California Black Chamber of Commerce, Jay King.The event’s keynote speaker was Sacramento State University’s president, Dr. Luke Wood who spoke about his institution’s role in shaping future business leaders.”We’re trying to serve as an engine for economic development for this region from everything that we’re doing with the stadium. Everything we’re doing with our downtown project. They’ll be right next-door to the state capital,” Wood explained. “Our students are the workforce of this region. The event, held at downtown Sacramento’s Citizen Hotel, brought together business and legislative leaders from across the state to honor Black-owned businesses and businesses that have made a meaningful impact on communities of of color.
