BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — One person was arrested for allegedly stabbing and killing a man in southwest Bakersfield Sunday afternoon.

The Bakersfield Police Department said on Sunday, February 8, 2026, at around 4:30 p.m., officers were called to the 4100 block of Thatch Avenue for a reported stabbing.

When officers arrived, they found a man unresponsive.

Police said officers engaged in lifesaving measures until EMTs arrived.

The victim died from his injuries.

According to police, after an investigation, 32-year-old Cecille Diaz was arrested for homicide.
