Residents of Fullerton are invited to an engaging author talk with local writer Linda Zohman Avellar, who will be showcasing her recently published debut novel, “Cassie Linden Finds Her Sweet Spot.”  Avellar’s novel has garnered positive attention, receiving a Kirkus review and praise from notable authors.

Kristan Higgins, a New York Times bestselling author, described the book as “warm, intelligent and steeped with emotion… a gorgeous debut.”

The story follows a woman’s journey back to her hometown to care for her aging father, who holds a deep affection for his bees. As she navigates this transition, she employs a beekeeper, leading to unexpected changes in her life. The narrative explores themes of family, resilience, and the healing power of nature, all inspired by Avellar’s own experiences and research into beekeeping. As a proud Sunny Hills High School alum, Avellar expresses excitement about returning to her roots for this event.

“I’m thrilled to speak about my book in my hometown,” she said. “It’s particularly special as my 92-year-old mother, Naomi Zohman, continues to be an active volunteer with the Friends of the Fullerton Public Library.” The Friends of the Library are making the event even more enticing by giving away free copies of “Cassie Linden Finds Her Sweet Spot” to the first 30 attendees.

While registration is encouraged, it is not mandatory for participation in the event.
