The562’s football coverage for the 2025-26 school year is sponsored by Long Beach Poly alums Wendell “WoWo” Moe, Jr. & Tyson Ruffins.

Long Beach Poly added another name to its list of college signees Wednesday, honoring quarterback Deuce Jefferson during National Signing Day as he officially committed to the United States Naval Academy to continue his football career.

Jefferson, a QB and leader for the Jackrabbits, earned the opportunity through years of discipline and consistency on and off the field. As to why Jefferson chose the Navy, he stated, “I’m glad to be in a place where I can play football and have a great education to apply past football.”

His commitment to the Navy reflects both his athletic ability and his dedication to academics and service.

Surrounded by family, teammates, and coaches, Jefferson celebrated the milestone as he prepares to take the next step in his football journey at the collegiate level.

Jefferson is the third Jackrabbit football player to sign this year and 12th overall across all sports, with several more expected to sign between now and May.
