Guerrilla garden in L.A. River

East Hollywood—Ed Williams—who played forensic scientist Ted Olsen in the “Naked Gun” movies — died earlier this month at age 98. Before turning to acting full-time in the 1980s, Williams taught speech at L.A. City College. Hollywood Reporter

Photo exhibit for Sister Kent

Los Feliz—Sister Corita Kent, who had an art studio and classroom on Franklin Avenue at Western Avenue in the 1960s, has some of her photography work now showing at the Marciano Art Foundation on Wilshire Boulevard. Kent (1918–1986) was a Catholic nun and head of the art department at Immaculate Heart College. Artillery Magazine said she harnessed “the modern art languages of her time to amplify the growing movements for justice and peace.” Her retrospective at Marciano, “Corita Kent: The Sorcery of Images,” runs until Jan. 24.
