STANFORD, Calif. – Stanford snapped a three-match losing streak with a 4-3 win over visiting Sacramento State on Monday afternoon.

For the first time since Jan. 23 against Yale, the Cardinal captured the doubles point. Alyssa Ahn and Tianmei Wang picked up their second win of the season at No. 2, 6-2, before Sein Myoung and Morgan Shaffer secured the point at No. 3, 6-2. Caroline Driscoll and Monika Ekstrand finished out their match on the top doubles court and ended a four-match losing streak with a 6-4 victory.

Driscoll cruised in singles on court two, 6-0, 6-1, to put a stop to a three-match losing streak, and after the Hornets picked up a win on court six, Sein Myoung was a 6-1, 6-3 winner on court four to put Stanford one point away.

Sacramento State evened things at 3-3 with wins on courts five and three, the match coming down to a third set for freshman Monika Ekstrand at the top spot. Ekstrand prevailed 6-3, 3-6, 6-4 to clinch and move to 3-3 in three setters this season. Stanford is now 3-3 this spring and Ekstrand has clinched each dual win.

The Cardinal is next in action on Friday, Feb. 14 when it plays at UC Santa Barbara at noon.
