CLOVIS, Calif. (KFSN) — The Clovis City Council approved to display the national motto ”in God we Trust” in the council chambers.
Between November and December of last year a community survey was conducted on the proposal.
The results found that of the 508 Clovis residents that participated, 68% supported it while 22% opposed.
The Mayor Pro Tem Diane Pearce says this community outreach helped people get involved in the decision-making process. ”The results of the survey the Clovis Community, showed overwhelming support for display of our motto & the fact what it really does is symbolize visually to people what some of our community values are who Clovis is what Clovis is about.”
The Mayor Pro Tem says the motto display will be privately funded.
