Update: 49ers’ Keion White shot after dispute involving rapper Lil Baby at SF stripper party
A defensive end for the San Francisco 49ers was injured Monday morning in a shooting in the Mission.
“Keion White was a victim of a shooting and sustained a bullet wound to his ankle this morning in San Francisco. He is currently undergoing surgery at a local hospital. We will provide further updates when appropriate,” a team spokesperson said Monday.
According to the San Francisco Police Department, White was shot at 4:06 a.m. on the 1700 block of Mission Street.
An argument between two groups inside of a business may have led to the shooting, according to police.
When police arrived they found an injured White, who was transported to a hospital for treatment.
Police do not know the identity of the shooter, who remains at large.

White posted an image on Instagram just after 5 p.m. that indicated he may have attended the Super Bowl in Santa Clara to watch his former team, the New England Patriots.
The 49ers acquired White, 27, in an October trade with the Patriots. A native of Garner, North Carolina, and product of Georgia Tech, White registered 12 tackles and 1.5 sacks in nine games with the 49ers.
A rotational pass-rusher who made two starts, White is under contract with the team through the 2026 season.
White is the second 49ers player to be shot in San Francisco in the last two years. Ricky Pearsall was shot in the chest in an attempted robbery Aug. 31, 2024, at Union Square. The wide receiver was walking past 77 Geary St. when a teenager walked up and shot him, according to the SFPD.
