Feb. 9 (UPI) — A Bad Bunny Look-alike Contest in San Francisco drew a crowd of about 300 people to watch 28 impersonators compete.

Mission Lotería’s Bad Bunny Look-alike Contest, held Thursday night, was organized in the run-up to the performer’s Super Bowl halftime performance.

A field of 28 Bad Bunny impersonators donned their best costumes to mimic the iconic looks of the reggaeton performer, who was born Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio in Puerto Rico.

Abdul Arroyave, a Colombian singer — and professional Bad Bunny impersonator — currently living in Mexico City, was crowned the winner of the contest, and was presented with a $100 cash prize and a Tacolicious gift card.

Organizer Luis Quiroz said the contest was about more than just celebrating Bad Bunny.

“As a Latino in this country right now, it’s a really tough time, and it’s a hard time to feel like we can celebrate,” he told Mission Local. “We have to keep in mind that our joy is our resistance. This is an epic start to the Super Bowl weekend.”
