SAN FRANCISCO, CA — The San Francisco Police Department will increase enforcement across city streets ahead of Valentine’s Day to deter drunk and impaired drivers.
Police say the “DUI saturation patrol” will take place between Friday at 7 p.m. and Saturday at 3 a.m. During this time, officers will be looking for drivers showing signs of impairment, according to the San Francisco Police Department.
A specially trained officer will evaluate drivers suspected of driving under the influence, according to the department.
Drivers convicted of operating a vehicle while under the influence may face thousands of dollars worth of fines and penalties, in addition to having their license suspended, according to authorities.
“Not to mention the embarrassment when friends and family find out,” the San Francisco Police Department said. “Plan for a safe Valentine’s Day and President’s Day Weekend.”
