LAGUNA NIGUEL, CA — Orange County towns rank among the top 10 safest cities in California, according to a new report from Safewise.
SafeWise, a security product review platform, looked at FBI crime statistics for cities in California to compile its 12th annual Safest Cities report.
Rancho Santa Margarita, followed by Yorba Linda and Laguna Niguel, ranked in the top 10 safest cities in the state. The amount is down two cities from last year, when Lake Forest and Aliso Viejo were listed among the top 10.
“Californians were also more likely to have experienced violent crime or package theft first-hand compared to the average American, so it’s not surprising that they feel high levels of concern,” the report said. “Just 37% of Californians surveyed say they feel safe in their state, which is the fifth lowest safety confidence in the nation.”
