Police say a motorcyclist was killed this morning in a crash at an intersection in central Long Beach.
It happened shortly before 6:05 a.m. at the intersection of Anaheim Street and Linden Avenue, according to Long Beach police.
Investigators determined that a 2020 Mercedes-Benz was heading westbound on Anaheim Street when it made a left turn onto southbound Linden Avenue, in front of a motorcyclist who was heading eastbound on Anaheim Street, police said.
The impact threw the rider from his motorcycle. Officers found him lying on the sidewalk, police said.
The man was taken to a hospital, where he was later pronounced dead, police said. His name was withheld pending family notification.
The Mercedes driver remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
Speed, impaired driving, and distracted driving were not believed to be factors in the crash, police said.
