(FOX40.COM) — A man from Sacramento was arrested on Friday in connection with a report of a person stealing mail, according to the Folsom Police Department.
FPD said that officers received reports around 3:30 a.m. that a person was stealing mail from a community cluster mailbox in the 1900 block of Horseshoe Glen Circle.

During the search for the suspect, police found the mailbox, which was unlocked, open and completely emptied of its contents, according to FPD.
Officers later found a person who matched the description of the suspect and found that he was on felony probation for offenses including possession of counterfeit items, identity theft, possession of counterfeit financial instruments and grand theft.
The suspect, identified as Christopher Palma, was allegedly found in possession of a bag of stolen mail, loose mail containing personal identifying information and suspected forged cluster mailbox keys.

As officers canvased the area, they also witnessed a black sedan speed out of the neighborhood, according to police. Officers obtained the license plate number and will conduct a follow-up investigation.
“We commend our patrol officers for their professionalism, attention to detail, and commitment to keeping our community safe,” FPD officials said. “We also thank the vigilant community member who reported the suspicious activity.”
