BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — High winds are beginning to cause damage to some areas in Bakersfield.

A tree fell onto a home in east Bakersfield. The large tree went through the home and damaged the porch furniture.

Meanwhile, motorists were seen trying to avoid hitting tumbleweeds on Truxtun Avenue, near Mohawk Street.

The National Weather Service said a Wind Advisory has been issued for the Coastal Range and Kern County Mountains and Desert Slopes from 8 a.m. Tuesday through 1 p.m. Wednesday.

Officials said south winds of 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 50 to 60 mph are expected.

Eyewitness News Weather Authority team said rain will become increasingly likely during the night. Showers could still occur tomorrow too.
