BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — Gusty winds blowing throughout Bakersfield have kicked up lots of dust.
Winds out of the southeast of around 20 mph were reported in the area at around 2:45 p.m. Gusts are expected to reach around 30 mph into Tuesday evening.

Air quality readings were at 73, or moderate, according to the California Air Resources Board at around 3:35 p.m. People who are unusually sensitive to particle pollution should limit outdoor activity.

Amid the gusty winds, several outages were reported. A power outage in downtown Bakersfield affected 91 homes and businesses, PG&E said.
A wind advisory is in place through 1 p.m. on Wednesday in parts of Kern County including mountain areas and desert slope areas. Gusts may reach up to 50 mph to 60 mph at time, the National Weather Service said.
