Rain and thunderstorms in the valley and snow in the Sierra are set to impact travel on Wednesday.

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Weather impacts, including valley rain and Sierra snow, are expected this week and are likely to affect travel.

Starting Tuesday night, an atmospheric river swept through Northern California, triggering numerous weather events. Snow has already arrived in the Sierra.

Wednesday is a Weather Impact Day. Thursday through Saturday, no rain is forecast, but you can expect clouds with partial sunny skies.

Scattered thunderstorms are likely on Wednesday afternoon.

However, rain and snow are returning for the rest of the weekend and into next week. Sunday through Wednesday, we are back into Weather Impact Alert days.
